Almost 10 feet tidal surge in Sundarbans, 39 deer carcasses recovered
Under the influence of cyclone Remal, the entire Sundarbans has been flooded for about 30 hours. Forest department officials say there has been a tidal surge of about 10 feet high in Jamtala of the Sundarbans, the entire forest has been damaged.
The salt water of the sea has entered the freshwater reservoirs. Deer carcasses are being found in various places. Various structures including forest department offices, staff quarters, and jetties have been damaged.
