Fielding need to be of high intensity in T20s
Bangladesh all-rounder Mahedi Hasan said that the intensity in the field will have to be greater in T20s as the Tigers gear up for the upcoming series against New Zealand.
The Tigers are on a high after beating Australia 4-1 and home and will be looking to put in another dominating performance in the upcoming series.
"Fielding is very important. A good run out or a catch can change the momentum of a game. T20 is a high intensity game and the fielding will have to be high intensity as well.
"You cannot save 50 runs here but saving 15-20 runs here can prove to be the difference between the two side," Mahedi said.
Bangladesh have had a poor outing on the field in recent years, but the inclusion of a few youngsters in the T20 format has added electricity in the field.
Mahedi, who has been a keen fielder, said that the team's overall level on the field can improve through the energy shown by the more agile fielders in the side.
"We have Afif [Hossain], Shamim [Hossain], and [Nazmul Hossain] Shanto in our team and we enjoy how they field. I want to learn from them too since they are doing so well," he concluded.
