High-flying Chelsea find themselves in Premier League title race
The last time Chelsea won the Premier League was back in 2016-17. Since then, despite being in the fight for the crown on a few occasions, The Blues have struggled to find the killer instinct and have suffered from several setbacks centred around an unexpected change in ownership. Performance levels had also reached severe lows in the 2022-23 season and they ended up finishing 12th in the league.
The Blues have completely changed under Italian coach Enzo Maresca and there seems to be no hangover from the sufferings they've had to endure in recent seasons.
Playing aggressive and eye-catching football, Chelsea are now joint-second in the league, with only Liverpool ahead of them. The West London club has scored the most goals in the league so far, with 31 strikes.
What has changed and how has Maresca alongside a host of the most talented players in the world come together to propel Chelsea to this position?
The Daily Star's sports podcast 'Pitch Perfect', hosted by Shabab Chowdhury and starring Adnan Zahid and Mahmood Alam Bappy – members of Chelsea FC Bangladesh Supporter's Club - brings you an in-depth discussion on Chelsea's revival and how far they can go this season.
