Public's very existence depends on the democratic process

The primary requirement for a democracy is the management of the state as per the consent of the people. This consent is imparted through fair elections. Once this primary requirement has been fulfilled, a government must then continue with the democratic process. But how is the democratic process faring in Bangladesh, 51 years after the country's independence? Professor Anu Muhammad of the economics department of Jahangirnagar University spoke to us regarding this on International Day of Democracy 2022.
