THE DAAK GHOR TODAY
Over what seems like a short period of time, technology has suddenly become the primary tool that aids our social interaction. It wasn't very long ago that letter writing was a popular means of communication, but the introduction of the mobile phone and the internet - which lead to the use of smart phones and innumerable apps to help us keep in touch - has made the practice of sending letters obsolete.
While some still view a hand written letter as more personal, certainly more romantic compared to a text or an email, yellow envelopes bearing personal letters can rarely be seen in our post offices nowadays. So what do postmen carry in their mail-bags these days? How does the post office run? These are some of the questions we asked when we visited the GPO (General Post Office) in Gulistan, and took a look at their variety of revenue generating services. To learn about them, check out this week's Spotlight.
