Preliminary round of International Leadership Programme On Education held at UIU
The preliminary round of the International Leadership Programme on Education took place at United International University (UIU) recently, funded by the US Department of State. Primarily, students coming from different institutions attended a workshop on the English language and then sat for the preliminary round which focused on training them in effective communication. The event also included an art competition for the students. At the opening ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of UIU, Prof Md Mofizur Chowdhury welcomed everyone and applauded GILC and GEIST International Foundation for providing young students with opportunities to represent Bangladesh at a global platform. The guest of honour of the event, Honourable Ambassador of the United States, Earl R Miller, also spoke.
Eight students will be selected to participate in the English Language Competition in Vietnam this year after completing three rounds of this programme and going through a rigorous selection process. The event also included the unveiling of the annual report of GEIST International Foundation, an aeronautical photoshoot of the participants and the induction programme of the students of English Access, a micro-scholarship programme funded by the US. Department of State, during which the participants received acknowledgement certificates from Earl R Miller.
