The Local Cup Season One

The Local Cup Season One was organised recently, with participation from both renowned players and newcomers of DOTA 2 Bangladesh. The tournament incorporated two individual tiers to encourage players of different calibers.  Tier 1 was designed for the highly skilled players and tier 2 for the beginners. The winners, first and second runners up of tier 2 were given the opportunity to compete in tier 1 against the stronger teams in LAN matches held at Auroral Gaming Lounge, Mohakhali. This tournament initially started online and held the tier 1 matches at AGL later on. The LAN matches had a large number of visitors as some of the most famous and experienced players like Farhan "Deaths" Islam, Atif "Hulk" Al Rashid, Abdullah "Tudu Tudu" Al Noman, Farhan "AVD" Ony, Raahib "Deciphered" Reza, Fahmed "False" Anu and others took part in it. Another appealing feature of this tournament was its prize pool of tk.50,000. The winners of tier 1 and tier 2 are Oshustho Gaming and K.T.R.2 respectively. Team Critix and myRevenge.BD secured the position of the first runner up in tier 2 and tier 1.

"My target was to create a platform where both highly skilled and emerging players can compete with a fair chance to exhibit their capabilities in a healthy and competitive atmosphere," said Fahmed Anu, the key organiser of the event. "I plan to come back with season two soon, where I want to incorporate not only DOTA 2 but other popular games as well."  The Local Cup Season One was powered by Cougar and MSI.
