The Daily Star (TDS): What measures do you recommend to ensure general safety in lifts?

Md. Jenan-Ul-Islam (MJUI): A safe and reliable lift system must adhere to stringent safety standards to ensure user protection. This involves integrating advanced safety gear for emergency braking, seamlessly coupled with an overspeed governor to prevent uncontrolled descents. Proper door contact mechanisms are essential to ensure doors are securely closed before operation. Additionally, lifts should feature high-quality buffers to absorb shock, precisely calculated steel ropes or belts for optimal load-bearing capacity, and robust motor braking systems to reliably halt the lift when needed. Functioning limit switches are crucial for regulating movement within predefined limits, ensuring smooth and secure operation. In summary, it is vital to follow European safety standard guidelines at every stage, including design, production, manufacturing, installation, and regular maintenance.

TDS: What types of lifts do you provide, and how do you ensure they are both suitable for their intended purposes and prioritise safety?

MJUI: We offer a range of lifts tailored to various needs, including passenger lifts, freight/cargo lifts, panoramic lifts, hydraulic lifts, hospital lifts, and custom-designed solutions. Each lift type is engineered to meet specific requirements while adhering to the highest safety standards in line with EU regulations.

To prioritise safety, we comply with EN 81-20 and EN 81-50 guidelines. Additionally, we incorporate quality- and safety-certified components such as gearless machines with certified motor brakes, suitable steel ropes, high-quality door contacts, and advanced emergency braking systems.

TDS: What technological advancements have you adopted to improve the quality and efficiency of your products? What are your plans for innovation and sustainability?

MJUI: We have embraced advanced technologies to enhance the quality and efficiency of our products. Our innovations include integrating AI-powered access control devices for superior security and user convenience, holographic COP (Car Operating Panels) and LOP (Landing Operating Panels) for an intuitive user interface, and optimised designs featuring stylish and refined interiors.

Looking ahead, we are committed to fostering innovation and sustainability. As part of this vision, we plan to introduce regenerative drive systems that capture and reutilise energy during operation, significantly reducing energy consumption. This aligns with our dedication to a greener future and sustainable practices in lift system design.
