Rivers are dying

Rivers surrounding the capital -- the Buriganga, the Shitalakhya, the Balu, and the Turag -- are dying due to mindless pollution. Sewage is still dumped into them via stormwater drainage pipes and factories, especially small ones, release untreated waste into them. The result is dark black water where hardly any aquatic life could survive
