Bangladesh has a fair share of Airbnbs that can add significant value to the lives of both travellers and locals.

In the past, a few friends and I rented an Airbnb in Mirpur—a modest penthouse apartment with its own pool table and projector. The experience was incredible; we spent the day playing FIFA and then watched a movie at night.

Typically, a day trip can cost around Tk 6,000-7,000, but we enjoyed our mini day trip for just Tk 1,500. With such a wide variety of options, you can find whatever you need.

There are also small bungalows in Savar that make for an excellent day trip for those looking to escape their daily routines.

The fourth and final consideration when choosing an Airbnb over a hotel is the factor of respect. This may not be the norm, but guests often appear inconsiderate towards their hotel rooms, especially just before checking out, assuming that hotel staff will clean up their mess.

With Airbnbs, however, you might be renting someone's vacation home, extra apartment, or spare bedroom. Therefore, it's essential to treat their property with the same respect you would show your own home.

Additionally, you could face a high cleaning charge if you are disrespectful towards your Airbnb.
