The "Legends of the Decade" concert, initially scheduled for last Friday, was cancelled due to heavy rain. However, the event set to feature performances by the Pakistani band Jal alongside Bangladeshi bands Aurthohin, Vikings, and Conclusion has been rescheduled to take place today with a change of venue.

Mumtaz spoke with palpable excitement about returning to Bangladesh. "We are going to perform in Bangladesh after over a decade," he said, his eyes twinkling with nostalgia. "All Jal fans are probably grown up now, like me," he added with a chuckle. "But still they remember all the songs, it's so overwhelming for us to come here again and receive such a heartwarming welcome."

In 2017, after receiving medical treatment, he was returning from a hospital in Bangkok, when a car suddenly hit him. The accident caused damage to his spinal cord. Subsequently, he had to undergo further treatment. After extensive treatment for both cancer and spinal cord injuries, Sumon returned to the country in 2021.

In a city where most youth are confined to social circle jerks of restaurants and malls; these concerts are much-needed injections of life. Whilst there is a risk of fatigue and overuse, as it is with any industry, it is important that organisers persevere and stick to what makes them unique.
