Previous elections had sparked endless debates and criticisms. This time, however, there's a visible increase in security and preparedness.
After much anticipation, the date of the Bangladesh Film Artistes Association (BFAA) election has been announced. According to the Chief Election Commissioner Khorshed Alam Khosru of BFAA, the election will take place on April 19.
The Bangladesh Film Artistes Association (BFAA) will kick off the sale of nomination forms for its upcoming elections on March 30, which will run until 4 pm on March 31.
The current president of the association is veteran actor Ilias Kanchan, and the general secretary is actress Nipun Akter.
Noted, in the election held on January 28, 2022, for the term 2022-2024 of the Film Artistes Association, Ilias Kanchan was elected as the President, and Nipun Akter was elected as the General Secretary.
The Bangladesh Film Artistes Association (BFAA) might suspend the membership of Dhallywood actor Zayed Khan at its next meeting. Earlier, the memberships of Sucharita and Rubel were temporarily suspended by the association.
Although many celebrated directors were seen in the event, celebrity actors and actresses were not present. The day long programme included cultural performances, raffle draw, along with the artistes enjoying quality time with each other.
Speaking on the matter, the Minister of Information said, “Previously the demand for importation of films had been presented by many organisations, which I had mentioned won’t be possible if all the associated groups don’t come to a decision.”

After the verdict saying there are no restrictions on Nipun from performing her duties as the General Secretary, the issue has been dissolved. Now, actors Moushumi, Dipjol, Rubel, and Aliraj from the panel of Zayed Khan took the oath today, at the meeting of the executive committee of the association.
