At least two more people died from dengue in 24 hours preceding 8:00am today

The country saw seven more deaths and 877 more hospitalisations due to dengue fever in the last 24 hours till this morning.
As many as 89 dengue patients died last week alone. Meanwhile, at least 20,155 dengue cases were reported during this time. Of this, 14,436 patients are from outside Dhaka, while the rest 5,719 patients are from the capital.
Almost 35 percent of the people who died from dengue are aged between 21 and 40 years, according to the health directorate data.
The capital’s Mugda Medical College Hospital has been struggling to cope with the steep rise in the number of dengue patients over the last few weeks.
At least 281 people succumbed to dengue last year, while 62,382 patients were hospitalised, the highest deaths and second-highest cases ever recorded in the country.
