Two Bangladeshi films shine at NFDC Film Bazaar

Recently, the list of selected films for Film Bazaar was revealed, featuring 21 projects from seven countries. Among the chosen scripts is a project from the renowned Indian producer of “Baahubali,” and more significantly, two Bangladeshi films have also made the cut — “Roid” and “Divine Chords.”

IFFI 2023 honours winners, 'Kantara' becomes first Kannada film to win

The 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) wrapped up in Goa on Tuesday following the screening of 270 international and Indian films – comprising 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films. The concluding ceremony honoured “Endless Borders” with the Best Film Award, recognised “Panchayat” Season 2 as the Best Web-Series, presented actor-director Rishab Shetty with the Special Jury Award for his film “Kantara”, and bestowed the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award upon Hollywood legend Michael Douglas.

It was ahead of its time: Rani Mukerji on ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’

Actress Rani Mukerji, presently in Goa for the 54th International Film Festival of India, participated in a masterclass where she discussed the aftermath of the release of the film "Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna". Rani revealed that the movie exposed uncomfortable truths about Indian marriages, subsequently contributing to a rise in the divorce rate.

As the distinction between the North and South diminishes and the Bollywood entertainment industry integrates, many actors are exploring opportunities in diverse linguistic contexts. Nevertheless, despite possessing a nationwide fan following and impressive filmography, actor Pankaj Tripathi has articulated his rationale for refraining from projects in languages other than Hindi. Khatija Rahman, daughter of Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman, is set to make her mark on the global film scene with her debut as an international film score composer in the upcoming project "Lioness". It is amongst the ten works chosen for the much-awaited list of Film Bazaar of the 54th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to be held in Goa from November 20.
