The “July Reawakening Theatre Festival” is currently underway at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, featuring 11 new productions by 11 theatre troupes. Organised to reflect on the spirit of the July movement, the festival opened on July 31 at the National Theatre Hall and will continue till August 8.

However, this year, Mr World Bangladesh 2024, B Proshad Das, and designer Tasmit Afiyat Arny, elevated the platform with a meaningful tribute to an unsung segment of Bangladesh’s population through a costume, titled “Tribute to Remittance Warrior.”

The director discussed his beginning in the film industry, his journey to becoming a filmmaker, the current state of cinema, and the future of filmmaking. Following this, he answered various questions from the audience. When a student asked if he would make a film about the July mass uprising, Rafi responded by announcing his intent to create such a film.
According to the notification, the new 15-member Film Certification Board will be chaired by the secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The current vice chairman of the Bangladesh Film Censor Board has been appointed as the member secretary of the new board.
