Khaled Mahmud Sujon has resigned from the post of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director on Wednesday.
In Bangladesh cricket, team director appears to be a role only required in away series or major tournaments. Thus, Khaled Mahmud is now a former team director. The former national team captain in an exclusive interview with The Daily Star's Abdullah Al Mehdi, talked about recent controversy regarding things said in the World Cup probe report, his own role and about head coach Chandika Hathurusingha.
“I have not been given the authority to make decisions,” Mahmud told the Bangladeshi media in Delhi today
“I request everybody to keep faith in this team. We have a very exciting team with a blend of youth and experience. We have a dream and we have to materialise it. I believe everybody will try their best to uplift the image of the country,” said Khaled Mahmud.
Former team director Khaled Mahmud Sujon had been away from the national side’s periphery for a while.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) director Khaled Mahmud had a great working relationship with Chandika Hathurusingha during the Sri Lankan’s previous stint as head coach of Bangladesh.
