A fire broke out at a slum in Dhaka’s Mirpur area this afternoon
A three-member probe committee has been formed to investigate the devastating slum fire in Chalantika area of Dhaka's Mirpur.
The fire that engulfed Mirpur slum on March 12 is said to have gutted 1,000 shanties leaving thousands with nothing but the clothes on their backs. These are people from the lowest income groups who lost all their meaningful possessions and literally have no place to go.
Hundreds of shanties have been gutted in the fire at Mirpur’s Ilias Mollah Slum. One elderly has sustained burn injuries.
