natural disaster Bangladesh

What’s in store for our agricultural production potentials?

Both the government and private sector should come forward and encourage climate-smart agriculture as well as the production of non-local crops, which have immense possibilities. It would not only increase the productivity of our agriculture sector, but also maintain self-sufficiency and ensure food security in Bangladesh.

Earthquake alert! Dos and don’ts before, during and after a tremor

Among the list of inevitable incidents, natural disaster holds the top list. That being said, Dhaka, one of the world's most densely populated cities, has been ranked in the top 20 cities most vulnerable to earthquakes. In addition to the current level of unplanned urbanisation along with the non-adherence to the National Building Code, Dhaka is a ticking bomb in the wake of an earthquake. In times like these, as responsible individuals, it is our responsibility to know what to do before, during and after these disasters.

“Just 2 weeks ago, we faced flash flood and now another blow”

Residents of Chhatak, Bishwambarpur, Tahirpur and Dowarabazar upazilas of Sunamganj and Companiganj, Gowainghat upazilas of Sylhet, including the city corporation areas, are badly affected due to the ongoing heavy rain and flood.
