Even though the countrywide power cuts are statistically more frequent at the moment compared to last month, State Minister for Power Nasrul Hamid announced that load-shedding has decreased.
At least 90% power supply was restored across Bangladesh after nearly seven hours of blackout following the national power grid failure today (October 4, 2022).
Power supply was restored in some parts of Dhaka city under Maniknagar and Hasnabad grid substations and also a good number of districts under Sylhet, Chattogram and Mymensingh at 7pm. But supply could not be restored in the areas under Ulon grid substations in Dhaka.
About 20-25 percent electricity was restored after four hours of power outage, said a spokesperson of Power Grid Company of Bangladesh.
Patients in several hospitals in Dhaka and Chattogram cities have been suffering as many parts of the country have been experiencing power outage since this afternoon.
