Dipan murder: 2 death row convicts whisked away from Dhaka court
Two Ansar Al Islam men, who were sentenced to death for killing publisher Faisal Arefin Dipan, were whisked away from the premises of a Dhaka court today.
The convicts are Moinul Hasan Shamim alias Samir alias Imran, and Abu Siddiq Sohel.
Some men sprayed some chemical into the eyes of law enforcers and took the two convicts away from custody, the sources said.
Faruk Hossain, deputy commissioner (media) of DMP, also confirmed that the two militants fled away from the court premises.
On February 10 last year, a Dhaka tribunal sentenced eight members, including the two who fled today, of the banned militant group to death for killing Dipan in October 2015.
