Weeklong Celebration of Photography
Pathshala South Asian Media Institute celebrated World Photography Day with an exhibition inauguration titled ‘Expanded’ on 19 August 2022, at DrikPath Bhobon. The exhibition had been curated by Sarker Protick and Samsul Alam Helal and showcased the works of eight emerging photographers from South Asia. The works were produced during a year-long mentorship programme in collaboration with VII Academy and Pathshala South Asian Media Institute. The photographers of the exhibition were Hadi Uddin, Mayank Makhija, Mehbuba Mahzabeen Hasan, Nad-E-Ali, Riti Sengupta, Tavish Gunasena, Uma Bista, and Vamika Jain.
Sarker Protick bring home World Press Photo Award
Bangladeshi photographer Sarker Protick won an award at the 58th World Press Photo Contest for the year 2014, announced earlier this week.
