For most people, including myself, the primary obstacle when working as a student is managing time. As a person who used to “go with the flow”, I had to learn to be more organised and plan out my days more carefully.
Though children will try to continue with their lives, the shadow of what they’ve seen and heard will loom over them.
Call me the lord of useless things but it is indeed with peculiar curiosity I notice some of the student leaders in casual wear, even on the most formal of occasions. I will remember these the next time I am invited to any black tie event!
In the wake of the political upheaval following the resignation of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on 5 August 2024, the country found itself in a precarious situation. Students have emerged as key figures in maintaining stability and order during this period.
These young entrepreneurs are not only proving the do-ability of running a thriving business alongside studies but also inspiring countless other students to dip their toes into the rewarding world of entrepreneurship.
The budget has increased across all levels of education. On the surface, the numbers appear to align with the government’s claims about education being one of the most important sectors to invest in. While there has been an increase in the amount proposed, it simply falls short of global standards.
London, Tokyo, and Seoul lead the list. Out of the 160 cities in this list, Dhaka ranked 149th with a score of 44.1, one of the lowest on this list.

The Department of Media Studies & Journalism (MSJ) at University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organised “Trashion Show” – a fashion show where students crafted different outfits and accessories using recycled waste materials.

Looking back, I realise the damage that those two years of home education had cost me across multiple domains, not just my mental health.
