Md Kaus Mia, one of the highest taxpayers in Bangladesh since 2010-11, has died at the age of 94.

While the cost of living remains high, with the inflation rate hovering at over 9 percent throughout the year, no ray of hope came for the common people in the budget declared yesterday. This is upsetting for the low and middle-income groups of society.

The NBR has published the names of 141 individuals and companies as the top taxpayers for the 2022-23 tax year. A gazette has also been published to this effect.
