Says UN chief, as conflict across the border rages on
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has said the UN stands ready to assist Bangladesh in fostering peace, national dialogue, trust and healing as the country undergoes important reforms and transitions.
They made the call during his visit to the Rohingya camp along with UN Secretary-General António Guterres at an iftar event in Cox’s Bazar today
Says he will be reaching out to all countries for sufficient funds
He hoped the reforms would lead to a free and fair election and a "real transformation" of the country
A Biman flight carrying Prof Yunus and Guterres landed in Cox’s Bazar Airport at 12:48pm.
Guterres also thanked Muhammad Yunus, the interim government and the people of Bangladesh for their warm welcome.
