Pathshala South Asian Media Institute celebrated World Photography Day with an exhibition inauguration titled ‘Expanded’ on 19 August 2022, at DrikPath Bhobon. The exhibition had been curated by Sarker Protick and Samsul Alam Helal and showcased the works of eight emerging photographers from South Asia. The works were produced during a year-long mentorship programme in collaboration with VII Academy and Pathshala South Asian Media Institute. The photographers of the exhibition were Hadi Uddin, Mayank Makhija, Mehbuba Mahzabeen Hasan, Nad-E-Ali, Riti Sengupta, Tavish Gunasena, Uma Bista, and Vamika Jain.
Like every year, World Photography Day has been celebrated across the globe on 19 August. It has been taken up a notch by KrayonMag, which organised a two-week-long photography exhibition, “New Normal Through My Eyes”, from 1 September 2021.
