“I don’t know how else we can help a nation that is repeatedly being wronged other than through our art,” said Ahmed Hasan Sunny, a rising star in the music industry. “We’ve remained an audience, helpless after seeing bombs dropped on civilians, hospitals and innocent children in Gaza. We decided to do something about it.” The young artiste took the challenge to organise a concert in support of Gaza’s hand-in-hand with artist Morshed Mishu, who was already planning to make graffiti to speak up for the oppressed people of Gaza.
Fundraising concert ‘To Gaza From Dhaka’ announces date
Bangladeshi artistes and humanitarian activists have come together under the platform Artists Against Genocide to protest the ongoing genocide in Gaza. This fundraising concert titled “To Gaza From Dhaka” will be held at the Hatirjheel Amphitheater on November 24.
Official theme song for ‘Dhaka Summer Con 2023’ released
The song has been penned by Sheikh M Reaz, drummer of Mechanix. “Escape” also contains a rap verse by Black Zang. Shishir Ahmed directed and supervised the composition of the song.

The music video of Ferrari Folk will be premiered at a cafe in Uttara on February 24. There will also be performances by renowned musicians.

“Hip hop changed the course of my life” – Black Zang
The presence of hip hop culture in the Bangladeshi music industry was not as prevalent even a decade ago. However, the scene has changed drastically over the years. Asiful Islam Sohan, who goes by the alias Black Zang (BZ), is one of the prominent artistes in the game. One day while playing around with Bangla words, he realised that he could write rhymes in his mother tongue. Ever since then, he has been honing his craft.
