Popeye presented a warm musical night to remember

Raffan Imam, a Bangladeshi musician popularly known as Popeye, named his band after his stage name, Popeye Bangladesh. They have become yet another name of craze amongst the country’s youth. Being a permanent resident of The United States, Popeye can hardly visit Bangladesh for concerts. But this time he arrived in Bangladesh for his first solo concert titled “Popeye: A Night to Remember”, held at the Liberation War Museum of Agargaon in Dhaka on May 24 (Friday).

Popeye to perform first solo concert in Dhaka

Renowned for his contributions to the music industry, Raffan Imam, affectionately known as 'Popeye,' has been sweeping audiences off their feet with his voice for more than a decade. Throughout his extensive career, Popeye has produced numerous popular tracks, including hits like “Neshar Bojha,” “Tikto Shotto,” “Bishanna Shundor,” “Moron Iccha,” and “Raat Kotha.” Despite his permanent residence in the United States, Popeye has been a rare presence in concerts in his home country.

Popeye releases new track

Taking fans by surprise, Popeye released a new song titled, “Bhul” today. The melodious yet melancholic number was uploaded to YouTube.

Popeye comes to town

With his original tracks, the voice behind the project, Raffan Imam, has created a musical entity of his own. Having released his first album in 2010, he is all set to perform his first concert in the country in 13 years on March 9, at the capital’s International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB).
