Traditionally, natural gas has been the primary source of energy in Bangladesh. For the last few years, domestic gas production has been declining and we have started importing liquefied natural gas (LNG) to meet the excess demand.  

Bangladesh will not run out of gas any time soon

In reality, the expected gas richness has not been visible because of the lack of exploration. Far more exploration needs to be carried out in order to unravel its true gas potential.

Tripura power coming in at Tk 6.44/unit

Bangladesh will buy 100 megawatts of electricity from India's Tripura for a reasonable rate of Tk 6.44 per kilowatt-hour, officials said.
