United Nations to hold first ever meeting on AI regulation

The United Nations Security Council is set to convene its first-ever formal discussion on the subject of artificial intelligence (AI) this week in New York. With the British presidency of the Security Council in July, the nation is taking the opportunity to rally international support for addressing the potential risks posed by emerging AI technology.

‘UNSC can’t avoid responsibility over Rohingya crisis’

Bangladesh says the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, cannot avoid its responsibility for a sustainable solution of the Rohingya crisis through voluntary, safe and dignified return of the Rohingyas to their place of origin and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

United Nations Security Council has asked Myanmar to carry out a “proper investigation” into crimes against the Rohingya people by the military, ensure repatriation in line with international standards, sign an agreement quickly with UN agencies and give them unconditional access.
