Seven flyovers that were built on the Dhaka-Gazipur route under the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Line-3 project were formally opened to traffic today
The limited launch of the metro tomorrow is unlikely to make any real dent in Dhaka's traffic problem
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday inaugurated the construction work on the much-hyped first-ever metro rail service in the capital and the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to Gazipur.
The first-ever fast bus lane designed to run from Dhaka airport to Gazipur will be at least 50 percent costlier with the construction expected to begin in June, four years after the government took up the project.
The cabinet approves the draft of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Act-2016, under which six dedicated fast-moving bus lanes will be built for the improvement of the capital’s transport system.
