2 Bangladeshi World Champion teams participate in the NASA program

Two world-champion NASA Space Apps Challenge teams from Bangladesh participated in the NASA program for the first time.

The champion teams, Team Olik (2018) and Team Mohakash (2021) participated in the NASA program on 15th and 16 March 2023 at the NASA headquarters in Washington DC, USA.

Team Olik won the 'Lunar VR Project' Best Use of Data category for a virtual application that would experience travel to the moon in 2018.

Team Mohakash became the World Champion in the NASA Best Mission Concept category in 2021.

The 2018 world champion Team Olik is from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). Meanwhile, the 2021 world champion Team Mohakash is a combined team from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) and Bangladesh Army University of Engineering and Technology (BAUET).

The NASA Space Apps Challenge is organised in Bangladesh by NASA annually under the guidance of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), in collaboration with BASIS Students Forum.
