BYD to train drivers on electric vehicles in Bangladesh

BYD, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced a training programme titled "Build Your Dreams NEV Training 2024," in Dhaka aimed at equipping local drivers with the skills required to operate new energy vehicles (NEVs) which includes both electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid vehicles. 

According to a press release, the training sessions will be held every Friday from 10 January to 14 February 2025 at the BYD Service Centre. Conducted by expert trainers, the programme will include both theoretical and practical components, covering the fundamentals of NEVs, efficient driving techniques, and product knowledge of BYD's SEALION 06 model.

Recruitment for the programme began on 19 December 2024 and will continue until 30 December 2024, with BYD representatives stationed in various locations across Dhaka. Registration for the training will open on 3 January 2025 at the BYD Service Centre in Dhaka, available daily from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Upon completion, participants will receive certificates. The programme is designed to prepare drivers for employment opportunities within Bangladesh and abroad, aligning with the nation's goals of reducing emissions and addressing unemployment.
