Microsoft just launched a platform that looks just like Facebook
Microsoft has introduced Viva Engage, a new app inside Teams that resembles Facebook and promotes social networking at work.
Viva Engage, which resembles a Facebook clone, encourages online conversations, self-expression, and communities in the workplace. It has a 'storylines' section with conversational posts, videos, images, and more. This section functions just like your Facebook news feed. It is obviously intended to feel similar to Facebook in both appearance and functionality so that workers will use it to share news or even personal interests.
The pandemic has undoubtedly accelerated businesses' transition to hybrid work and increased the need for apps like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Slack. Microsoft Teams has been increasingly positioned as the hub for work and communications at Microsoft. Teams has evolved into the default platform for employee communication and sharing across many businesses, and for many employees operating Teams channels, it has increasingly taken on the characteristics of a social network.
Viva Engage will also have Stories. Employees will be able to share using stories in Microsoft Teams and Viva Engage just like they can on Instagram.
