Prince of Persia remake will release by early 2026

Ubisoft has confirmed that the long-delayed remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is now expected to launch by March 2026. The update was included in the publisher's latest earnings report, which outlines the company's financial expectations for the fiscal year (FY) ending 31 March 2026.
Originally announced for a January 2021 release, the remake has faced numerous setbacks, including multiple delays, a change in development studio, and reports that it was restarted from scratch.
The publisher has not yet provided a specific release date, but the inclusion of the title in its FY' 2025-2026 forecast indicates it will launch within the next ten months. A formal announcement could come as soon as next month, possibly during the Summer Game Fest.
Ubisoft listed the Prince of Persia remake among several titles expected to contribute to its upcoming financial performance, alongside Assassin's Creed Shadows, Rainbow Six Mobile, The Division Resurgence, Anno 117: Pax Romana, and Siege X.
When it was first revealed, the remake was set to feature original voice actor Yuri Lowenthal and preserve the writing of series creator Jordan Mechner. However, following the development overhaul in 2022, it remains unclear whether either is still involved in the project. Ubisoft has not commented on their current roles.
