Security tips to protect your messaging account

In today's interconnected world, it is paramount to ensure that our instant messaging accounts stay safe and secure. Thankfully, instant messaging applications have been continuously bringing multiple privacy and security features to guarantee that people can conveniently and swiftly protect themselves from any kind of hacking attempts.

For example, to ensure hackers are unable to access your Imo account, turn off the Multi-Device option under 'Manage Devices'. This option will restrict the use of the app to one device. Additionally, you can activate the SIM Binding and Passkey authentication. These advanced security features will ensure that any unauthorised access to your account will be blocked.

Here are some essential tips that can help protect your account. First, be very careful with your OTP (One-Time Password) and never share it with anyone. Remember, OTP can be used to access your account easily.

Secondly, if you use your messaging application on one device, then disable the 'multi-device' option in the 'Manage Devices'. It will ensure that others cannot log into your account from different devices; even if someone tries, they will be blocked and you will be notified about it.

You can also enable the SIM Binding feature, which ties your account with the SIM the device is associated with. The feature ensures that your account can only be accessible with the particular SIM card on the device.

If you use the app on multiple devices, then enable additional features to safeguard your account. You must enable the 'Trusted Device' and 'Two-Step Verification' systems to add an extra layer of protection. The 'Trusted Device' setting lets you control any devices that are getting access to your account.

Authorised devices would only get access through a unique Verification Code. To further enhance the security, you can enable the Passkey authenticator. It will allow you to access your account by using biometrics, such as face recognition and fingerprints. You can also use PIN for Passkey rather than biometrics.

To keep your accounts safe, regularly review 'Manage Devices' to check which devices are connected to your account. If you see any suspicious or unknown device, remove it immediately. Moreover, make sure to contact the support team when you encounter security risks. They are equipped to solve any issues promptly.

Instant messaging applications continuously update and bring new features and initiatives to develop secure platforms. However, even though apps bring features, you still need to be cautious. So, stay vigilant and update your settings to safely and seamlessly enjoy communicating with your loved ones.
