Bangladesh's digital land tax system receives global recognition

The Ministry of Land's digital land development tax system has been selected as one of the champion projects of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) 2022 contest.

The project became the champion in category seven: "ICT applications: benefits in all aspects of life - E-government."

In this contest, 4 to 5 projects in each of the 18 categories have been declared champions.

Out of these 18 categories, one best project or initiative in each category will be announced as the final winner of the WSIS Awards 2022 in the last week of May.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the nationwide online land development tax payment system on September 8, 2021.

The WSIS Prizes honour outstanding projects that leverage the power of information and communication technology to accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals.
