2 ‘JCD central leaders’ held with 20 petrol bombs

Detectives claimed to have detained two central leaders of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal, the student wing of BNP, along with 20 petrol bombs.
JCD central unit assistant organising secretary Md Zakir Hossain and assistant general secretary Mrinal Kanti Das were held from the capital, according to an SMS sent by DMP media wing today.
Zakir is JCD president of Jahangirnagar University unit, confirmed our JU correspondent.
A press briefing is scheduled to be held later in the day to provide details about the drive.
The Detective Branch of police conducted the drive amid the 120-hour countrywide hartal enforced by BNP-led 20-party alliance since Sunday morning.
The alliance enforced the shutdown demanding fresh national polls under a non-party administration and protesting the killing of opposition leaders and activists in the name of crossfire and for the filing of false cases against alliance leaders.
