3.6kg gold seized at Dhaka airport
Customs officials seized 31 gold bars weighing 3.6kg from a passenger at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka this afternoon.
The officials detained Mohammad Didar of Keraniganj, who arrived in Dhaka from Saudi Arabia by a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight around 3:00pm, said SM Sohel Rahman, joint commissioner of customs at the airport.
The customs officials found the gold bars searching Didar’s body while he was crossing the Green Channel at the airport, Sohel also said.
The market value of the gold bars is estimated at Tk 1.6 crore, he added.
