Beheaded body of outlaw found in Kushtia

Police today recovered the split body and head of a local leader of an outlawed radical organisation from Kushtia’s Sadar upazila.

The slain was Firoj Hossain, 40, son of Gias Uddin from Kushtia Sadar and a leader of outlawed Gono Mukti Fouz, reports our local correspondent.

Locals found his detached head near Balipara School and College in Alampur area around 9:30am and told police, said Obaidur Rahman, a sub-inspector of Kushtia

Police later recovered his body three kilometers away, he said. “He was accused in 14 cases including murder and was an absconding listed criminal. His rivals might have killed him.”

The incident took place days after the completion of municipal elections.
