JMB man held in Chapainawabganj

Police arrested an active member of the banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Nachol upazila in Chapainawabganj today.

The arrestee was identified as, Mohammad Masum, 25, son of late Abdul Gofur from Nachol upazila, reports our local correspondent quoting police.

Mohammad Fasiruddin, Officer-in-Charge(OC) of Nachol Police Station said, a police team raided Station Para area at around 10:00am and arrested Masum when he at his village home.

“He is an active member of JMB and he is trying to regroup the JMB members at the area.” The OC said. There are three cases against Masum in Nachol and Gomostapur police stations.

He was arrested earlier, but fled from jail and was on the run since.
