Manna’s remand cancellation plea rejected

A Dhaka court today rejected a petition filed by the counsel for Nagorik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna seeking cancellation of his 10-day remand in sedition case.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mizanur Rahman passed the order finding no ground to cancel the remand prayer.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Manna’s lawyer advocate Abdul Mannan Khan on Wednesday submitted the petition after Manna suddenly fell sick and was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The court also rejected a bail petition submitted on ground that he has been suffering from different ailments.
Manna was rushed to the DMCH after he had complained of chest pain Tuesday night.
