Vlogger and acid victim Reshma has started an initiative to stop the number of acid attacks still persisting in India. This online petition in the form of a makeup tutorial reaches out to the mass to bring public awareness and put an end to such violent attacks.

In May 2014, Reshma was attacked by her brother-in-law while she was out walking with her sister in Allahabad, India. He threw sulphuric acid on her face, leaving her permanently disfigured. She lost her left eye because of the attack.

Here, Reshma creates a PSA about her experience, crafted in the form of a makeup tutorial. She instructs viewers how to achieve the perfect red lip, telling them that they will "find red lipstick easily in the market ... just like concentrated acid." Reshma then instructs viewers to sign the petition to end the sale of acid, reports Mashable.

While the video may be shocking and uncomfortable, its message is vitally important.
