Irish boxer fights off gang of angry Turks (video)

Video footage of an Irish man in Istanbul taking on an entire mob single-handedly in what seems like a scene straight out of a Hollywood action movie has been making the rounds on social media.

The video shows the man fight off dozens of angry men as they charge at him with sticks, chairs and anything they could get their hands on.

But it seems they messed with the wrong guy – he takes the blows and then gives back in kind, knocking out a few with his punches in the process.

According to newspaper reports by Independent and the Mirror, the altercation was sparked off in Istanbul's Aksaray district when the Irish opened a shop fridge and water bottles spilled out.

Moments later an angry shopkeeper rushes at the tourist with a stick and soon all hell breaks loose.

The fight spilled out into the streets as other shopkeepers rushed in to help. But the Irish, a trained boxer according to news reports, calmly dodged the attacks and hit back.

The identity of the Irish was later revealed by Turkish media. Hurryiet Daily News identified him as a Kuwait-born Irish citizen Mohammed Fadel Dobbous.
