Impossible is nothing: Physically challenged Bangladeshi cricketers (video)

If you chase your dreams, you can break down barriers and achieve your dreams; this is exactly what young cricketer Tirtha has proven to us.

Physically challenged from birth, Tirtha always sat in the sidelines in his childhood as his playmates would run around the field with a bat and ball.

As he recalls, Tirtha spent countless evenings staring at them and his leg – with a heavy heart – while hardening his mind in resolve all the while.

That pursuit of a dream and sheer determination has brought him here today – representing Bangladesh in the international Twenty20 tournament for the physically challenged.

It is with a handful of these special people that Bangladesh this year placed its T20 team for the tournament and became the second runner up.

“If you are determined, it will take you to the end at the door of success,” Tirtha told The Daily Star. “Impossible is nothing. We have proven that we can do it too”.

Their coach and the management are optimistic that the International Cricket Council will recognise Bangladesh’s team very soon opening up a broader horizon for the team and its players.
