Bidyanondo, a non-profit social welfare organization which has been engaged in distributing personal protective equipment for free owing to a growing demand during the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, have appealed for grants from the masses.

Owing to the coronavirus pandemic, the organisation has been working on raising public awareness in the capital.  

Recently in Mirpur's Pallabi they constructed and renovated a wall, setting up water taps and basins along with hand washes for pedestrians and the public.

The group is now engaged in making PPEs, which they intend to distribute for free. In this regard, they have appealed for grants from anyone willing to donate to the cause.

"There are many aspects. We have few volunteers. But we cannot engage new volunteers considering their safety. People are worried about their own safety. We have very few gowns whereas the required number is very high," said Himu, a volunteer for Bidyanondo.

"No one is having enough sleep as they are working 22 hours a day," he added.
