Wasim Akram endorses Imran Khan ahead of Pakistan polls
Legendary fast bowler Wasim Akram today took to the social media platform Twitter to woo voters to support his former captain and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan.
Akram, who owes much of his cricket career to Imran Khan, wrote "A cricketer who became a politician? Or a man who was born to serve this nation, protect our people and lead us in to our own. And one day they will say that this same man was once a phenomenal cricketer. The time is now for change, Our country Our history! #VoteForKaptaan"

The hashtag '#VoteForKaptaan' is already trending in the social media, as supporters of Imran Khan call for a change in leadership in the country.
It was in your leadership skip @ImrankhanPTI that we became world champions in 1992. It is in your leadership that we can again become a great democratic country. #voteforkapatan#nayapakistan

In another tweet, Akram wrote, "It was in your leadership skip @ImrankhanPTI that we became world champions in 1992. It is in your leadership that we can again become a great democratic country."
It makes perfect sense for Akram to back his "Kaptaan (captain)" ahead of what is probably the most important day and the biggest test of the latter's political career.
A total of 105.95 million voters will head to polls in Pakistan tomorrow, with voting scheduled to begin at 8:00am. Some 800,000 security personnel have been deployed across the country to provide security on the day.
