Bangladeshi quarters gutted in Greece fire
Housing quarters of some hundreds of Bangladeshis were gutted in a giant fire in Greece’s Nea Manolada area last Thursday.
The fire broke out at 10:30am on Thursday in a rural area Ilia where, an agriculture-priority areapopulated largely by migrants, reports The Greek Observer.
On a Facebook post published yesterday, Jashim Uddin, ambassador of Bangladesh to Greece, Malta and Armenia, said that the houses of some hundreds of Bangladeshis were gutted in the fire.
“We, from the embassy, have distributed aid for the affected. We have talked to the mayor and police officials of the area,” he wrote in the Facbeook post.
He assured of maintaining efforts for a permanent solution to the ordeal.
