Google celebrates Int’l Women’s Day
Search engine giant Google created a new Doodle on its homepage celebrating the International Women's Day today.
Bangladesh is celebrating the International Women's Day with the rest of the world, highlighting women's rights and empowerment.
This year's theme is 'Think equal, build smart, innovate for change'.
In the doodle, Google showcases inspirational quotes across various languages by thirteen international female trailblazers-both past and present.
The quotations from Nigerian writer Chimamanda Adichie, British writer and suffragette Millicent Fawcett, British-Iraqi architect ZahaHadid, German writer Emma Herwegh, American astronaul and physician Dr. Mae Jemison , Mexican artist Frida Kahlo , Indian boxer Mary Kom, Brazilian novelist Clarice Lispector, Japanese multimedia artist Yoko Ono, French novelist George Sand, Chinese-born Taiwanese writer Sanmao, Russian poet Marina Tsvetaeva and Indian diplomat, NL Beno Zephine, are included in the Doodle.
Connecting to the larger theme of "women empowering women," the quotes were also designed by a talented group of female guest artists from around the globe.
Besides these motivational quotes, the colourful doodle also features the word 'woman' in 11 different languages including Bengali.
