Fakhrul blasts India, China over Rohingya issue
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today criticised China and India for their role in supporting of the heinous crime committed by the Myanmar army on Rohingya people.
"China and Indian's aid for Rohingyas is despicable. They are supporting Myanmar army, and on the other hand, sending aid for Rohingyas," Fakhrul said while addressing a discussion at the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh in Dhaka this afternoon.
"Where we are living now? There is no value of humanity where power and economic interests become important," the BNP leader added expressing grave concern over "double standard" of the two countries.
"Why China, Russia and India are supporting Myanmar when a killing spree of Rohingya people is underway? Stop this genocide," he said. Fakhrul urged the global community to act and mount pressure on Myanmar immediately to stop mass killing and pave the path for Myanmar to take back its Rohingya population.
Regarding the UN Security Council meeting, Fakhrul said: "We have said repeatedly that if needed the prime minister should visit China, Russia and India to convince them."
