BNP trying to do politics with Rohingya issue: Quader
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today alleged that BNP is trying to do politics with the Rohingya refugee crisis issue.
"The party (BNP) is throwing stones into the dark. It tried to give relief goods to Rohingya people without following any rules in this regard. Their move was foiled by the administration," Obaidul Quader told journalists in Cox's Bazar in the morning.
The AL leader questioned why BNP's secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alalmgir came to Cox's Bazar a month after the refugees started entering Bangladesh to flee violence in Myanmar.
The country and world are heading towards Cox's Bazar, but BNP is heading towards London as its chief Khaleda Zia is currently in that country, Quader said.
Quader, also Awami League general secretary, was taking to the media after inaugurating Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community, at the Gol Dighirpar Indra Sen Durga Bari of the town, reports our district correspondent.
A total of 293 Puja mandaps in the district will celebrate the festival this year.
